Our History
With studios in Burnaby, British Columbia and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, BOOST was founded in 1999 as CFX Creative by Carly Franklin.
What began all those years ago as a web design and development studio quickly evolved into a full-service branding and design agency providing high-end marketing and interactive design services to clients throughout Canada and the US.
Our Approach
With a strong understanding of the overall marketing process, our approach to communication design has always been to help our clients to build and nurture recognizable, sustainable brands and identities.
We work with our clients to develop compelling printed and interactive marketing materials that not only connect with the target audience, but inspire them to act.
Our Strengths
Our core strengths lie in design for branding and marketing which are, first and foremost, functional. We help our clients to portray an image of consistency and credibility which inspires consumer confidence.
Our goal is to provide design solutions that are not only unique and aesthetically-pleasing, but that produce results and generate an impressive return on investment.
Carly Franklin + Creative Director
Carly Franklin is Creative Director of BOOST Design + Marketing. Since founding the studio in 1999, she has worked on a wide range of identity, print, packaging and web projects with clients throughout the US and Canada.
A self-taught designer, Carly credits the years she spent working in art galleries and custom frame shops as the foundation of her design education. Early in her career, she fell in love with identity design after a chance encounter with a stack of design books at the local public library. Her own work has since been featured in numerous books on graphic design and corporate identity.
Drawing inspiration from the beauty of everyday objects, she hones her design skills through the study and practice of art in many forms, including photography, painting, drawing, and DIY projects.
Carly also worked as a licensed Realtor in British Columbia for 8 years and has extensive experience working on branding campaigns for real estate project marketing.
Laina Saccone + Director of Technology
Laina Saccone serves as the Director of Technology for BOOST. Her experience spans more than two decades and she is instrumental in spearheading the development side of the business.
She is passionate about creating compelling, pixel-perfect user experiences, performant high-traffic single-page applications, websites, and design systems built to industry best practices.
Laina has worked on projects for major North American corporations such as Nokia, Mr. Lube Canada, AutoTrader.ca, Talemetry, SPUD and many others. She is nicknamed the Code Queen for a reason!
She is extremely detail-oriented and forward-thinking, ensuring that all development for client projects are future-proofed and scalable as the client’s business grows.

Jasmin Bhandal + Marketing Strategist
Jasmin Bhandal is eagerly creative and passionate for out of the box thinking. Jasmin brings her experience as a Brand Planner and Strategist to help shape marketing strategy and tactics for BOOST’s clients across a wide range of industries.
With a background in strategy implementation for an array of industries including education, clean tech and CSR, Jasmin creatively translates business problems into precise and practical solutions. She’s an objective thinker with strategic mojo, turning big ideas into marketing reality. She has a knack for developing strategy to support magnetic brand personalities.
Jasmin studied at Emily Carr University, UBC, and SFU’s Beedie School of Business. She brings big-box agency experience to BOOST’s boutique studio approach.
She loves travelling back to her family’s native India regularly, painting, and hanging out with her cats.
